Claude Usage Meter

A small, always-on-top window that shows how much of your Claude.ai session and weekly limits are left, so you can check at a glance without opening the settings page.

Download extension (.zip) Chrome / Edge store: coming soon

Free. Works in Chrome and Edge. No account, no API key.

What it looks like

It opens as a floating window that stays on top of your other apps. The bar fills as you use a limit, and the color shifts from terracotta to amber to red as you get close.

Install it yourself

This is the manual method, using the download above. It takes a couple of minutes, once per browser. When the Chrome and Edge store versions are approved, you will be able to add it in one click instead.

1

Download and unzip

Download the .zip above and unzip it into a folder, for example C:\ClaudeUsageMeter.

2

Load it in your browser

Open chrome://extensions or edge://extensions, turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked, and choose the folder.

3

Open claude.ai

Sign in, then click the Usage button at the bottom right. The floating window opens. Drag it to a corner.

Notes

  • Uses your normal claude.ai login, so there are no API keys or tokens to copy, and it reads only claude.ai.
  • Keep a claude.ai tab open (it can be minimized) so the figures stay current. You click Usage once per browser session to open the window.
  • It relies on an unofficial claude.ai endpoint, the same one the usage page uses, so it may need an update if Anthropic changes it.
